Has some great ideas about how kids can alter their thinking into more positive thoughts to make a situation better; however, it seemed a bit disjointed with many different ideas.

Brilliant, bold illustrations with expressive characters!

Valerie Acklye writes "When your thoughts are focused they also take power. They pull toward you all you lot need to achieve annihilation you set your heed to". I was a little concerned with the use of 'power' and that yous can accomplish 'annihilation' you put your heed too, but because your mind is focused. I don't find that ever to be true in my adult life, and children can't always control the situations effectually them. Yes they can control their idea process, but they are limited at times in what they tin exist successful in based on the circumstances around them. Things like 'super mind' and 'power of your thoughts' to accomplish what you want, feels a bit New Age lingo to me. I do believe in the power of positive thinking, simply not with disregard to God having a hand in how things turn out.

Today's kids definitely need a message of positive thinking and gratitude. They do indeed have the power to control their thoughts, choosing to encounter the skilful things and having the positive affect their attitudes. I like how the author encourages the reader to achieve greatness with the ability of their mind. Situations and outside forces can seem to bring you down, but y'all can control how you look at it. Encouraging Grandma Rosie and her glasses, seeing things the good in things. I liked her!

I recieved a copy of this volume from Media Guests in exchange for an honest review.

What Are You lot Thinking reminded me a lot of a set of books my family read when I was a child chosen "Power Tales." Information technology's an uplifting motivational read for pre-schoolers and form school readers. Valerie Ackley'due south message to immature children is that their thoughts atomic number 82 to mood, which in turn leads to action. Children larn the ideas they foster in their mind are the power to ignite their futurity and can influence those around them. Each page is brilliant and colorful with visually stimulating patterns and illustrations. We found information technology sensory stimulating and my children particularly enjoyed finding the vivid greenish frog hopping throughout the story. Most of the message of this book is really good and it's a very creative way to get the message across to people. Simply some of the bulletin I disagree with. Bad things exercise happen to people who have rose-colored glasses on. Life happens and having a not bad mental attitude doesn't cease those bad things. Nonetheless, it does take into consideration that when bad things happen, information technology comes with a purpose, and sometimes improve things follow… 3 stars. $sixteen.95 hardcover. 30 pages.

Recommends information technology for: Mormor gave it to me.
Mormor gave me this volume for spring reading. Mama thinks it was a very nice gesture. However, it feels likewise much similar a kids version of "The Secret". The pictures are a bit cluttered but will appeal to kids of all ages with big, exaggerated images and big bright colors. The text is large, uses a variety of fonts and should be fairly easy for showtime readers who are comfortable reading with a lilliputian chip of help to read - just teach them to read by post-obit their finger on the page.
